Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 17, 2026
1. Introduction
RoadHub ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") is committed to protecting your
privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and
safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").
2. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways:
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account registration information (name, email, phone number)
- Profile data and preferences
- Location data when you grant permission
- Device information for Firebase authentication
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Device identifiers and model information
- Operating system version
- App usage analytics and product telemetry
- Crash reports and technical diagnostics
- Firebase authentication logs
- Approximate or precise geolocation (only with your permission)
2.3 Product Telemetry and Geolocation Details
To improve routing quality, stability, and user experience, we process
technical telemetry events (screen usage, feature interactions, latency
metrics, error traces) and geolocation data when location access is
enabled. Location access can be disabled at any time in your device
settings.
- Telemetry is used for performance tuning and feature quality control
- Geolocation is used for map, route, and nearby point functionality
- Diagnostics are used to detect issues and reduce app crashes
2.4 Optional VPN connection ("Gvard GreenLine")
The App includes an optional VPN feature branded as
Gvard GreenLine, implemented on top of Android's
system VpnService with an embedded Xray/VLESS core
(v2rayNG-style). The VPN is used by professional drivers to reach
dispatcher, fleet, and partner endpoints that may not be reachable
from certain mobile networks or countries along the route.
-
The tunnel is started only by an explicit user action
(tapping "Connect" on the VPN screen and confirming Android's
system VPN consent dialog).
-
Connection profiles (server address, user ID, routing rules) are
supplied by the user or the user's organization. We do not
distribute shared credentials.
-
While connected, a persistent notification is shown. The user can
disconnect at any time from the notification or from the VPN screen.
-
We do not operate a commercial VPN service, do not keep traffic
logs of the user's browsing activity, and do not inspect the
content of tunneled traffic on our side. Any logging is performed
by the destination server chosen by the user or the user's
organization.
-
The VPN does not start automatically on boot and is stopped on
sign-out or on manual disconnect.
2.5 Foreground services
The App uses foreground services (with a persistent notification)
to keep safety-critical tasks running while the screen is off:
-
Location (Radar): processes GPS updates to warn
about speed cameras and radar points along the driver's route.
Location is processed on-device for alerting. Started only after
the driver enables the Radar feature.
-
Media playback (Radio): streams online radio
and audio content via Android Media3 with standard media-session
controls in the notification.
-
Special use (VPN): manages the Android
VpnService TUN interface while the optional Gvard
GreenLine tunnel is active, as described in section 2.4.
Each foreground service is tied to an explicit user action inside
the App and can be stopped from its notification or from the
corresponding screen.
2.6 Driver compliance data (EU 561/2006 and similar)
For professional drivers the App offers on-device tools to track
work-time and rest-period compliance (daily / weekly driving time,
breaks, weekly rest). This data is stored locally in the app's
private database and is not transmitted to our servers unless the
driver explicitly enables cloud sync of their profile.
